Museum, Nature
Situated 15 km north of Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans is the best spot to immerse yourself in anything historically Dutch. The protected region is still inhabited, but made up as a museum in the open air. Around 600 windmills stood in the town 250 years ago, but today, five are open to visitors, including a sawmill and an oil mill.
