Waldemarsudde was initially the birthplace of Prince Eugen of Sweden. Over the course of 60 years, The Prince amassed a vast number of works by both existing and unknown artists. Today, the museum holds over 3,000 of his own pieces and more than 4,000 other works. The museum is located on three sides in a 70,000-square-meter park surrounded by Stockholm Harbor. It consists of a main building like a fortress known as the Palace, the original home of the manor, a Gallery Building and an old linseed oil factory.
