Cultural-Historical
In 1837, King Otto of Greece founded the University of Athens. Originally situated on the Acropolis, its grounds were quickly outgrown and a replacement was completed in 1864. The university house, with symmetrical Neoclassical columns fronting an arcade adorned with murals by artists Rahl and Lebietski, is low-slung and shaped like a capital H.
