Description

One of the newest memorials in the Washington area is the U.S. Air Force Memorial. Built to honor the men and women of the Air Force who serve and sacrifice. The memorial was formally unveiled by President George W. Bush on October 14, 2006. The Three-spire statue shows the contrails of three Thunderbirds of the Air Force, flying traditionally reserved for Air Force Funerals in the missing-man configuration.
