Cultural-Historical, Religious
The Benedictine Abbey of Tyniec is the oldest of its kind that is still in existence in Poland. The place, founded in 1044 by Benedictine monks, underwent raids, cosmetic remodeling and invasions. During the 1768 War of the Bar Confederation against the Russian Empire, it served as a stronghold for revolting Poles.
