Cultural-Historical, Museum
The Museum of Tretyakov dates back to 1856 and houses the largest collection of Russian art in the world. The gallery was founded by a merchant from Moscow who, in 1892, donated his collection to the city. The museum currently houses more than 170,000 pieces of art exhibited in 62 spaces. The history of Russian art from the 10th century through to the end of the 19th century is expertly traced.
