Description

The Itimad-ud-Daulah tomb was built by the daughter of Mizra Ghiyas Beg, a Persian nobleman, from 1622 to 1628. This tomb, while smaller than the Taj Mahal, is arguably more delicate and ornate. Shah Jahan possibly served as inspiration for the inlays, mosaics and marble lattice windows. It is a spot never seen by most travelers to Agra, but it is well worth a visit.
