Opened in 1987, Thean Hou Temple is dedicated to Thean Hou, the celestial mother. It is Kuala Lumpur's largest Chinese temple and sits 6 mi (8 km) from the city centre atop Robson's Hill. Filled with vivid golden statues, the prayer rooms are also dedicated to the Waterfront Goddess and the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy.
