Description

Actor Johnny Depp first opened The Viper Room in 1993. Later the same year, when actor (and Depp's friend) River Phoenix died from a heroin overdose right outside its doors, it gained a tragic brand of celebrity. It is now partly owned by Harry Morton, the founder of the Mexican restaurant chain Pink Taco of Southern California.
