Mountain, Nature
The highest portion of the Carpathian range and the southernmost boundary of Poland are the Tatra Mountains. The mountains occupy 300 sq miles, but in Slovakia there are three-quarters of them. In 1955, the Polish portion was designated a national park. The dramatic mountains are ideal in summer for hiking and in winter for skiing.
