Cultural-Historical
Before the Burj Khalifa in Dubai claimed the title in 2010, Taipei 101 was the tallest skyscraper in the world. There are 101 above-ground floors and five basement floors in the 1,667-foot building. To withstand earthquakes and typhoon-level waves, the skyscraper was built. The exterior of the buildings is supposed to imitate bamboo, a sign of resilience.
