Cultural-Historical, Religious
Prague's Strahov Monastery was founded in 1143. Fires, conflicts, revolutions, and authoritarian governments all survived it. A prominent feature of Prague's skyline are the spectacular spires of the basilica. Thousands of volumes, including 3,000 original manuscripts, are in the library. For some major films, such as the horror film From Hell starring Johnny Depp, the monastery has been the setting.
