Description

The most famous of all the islands in Moreton Bay is North Stradbroke Island. The island's first settlers arrived around 40,000 years ago, and the island is considered home by members of three Australian Aboriginal tribes. The interior is lined with reservoirs with freshwater, and white sand beaches line the coast. It's easy to see dolphins, mantas, sea turtles and humpback whales along the coast. You can go swimming, surfing, sailing, sand boarding, sea kayaking, or taking an inland 4WD walk.
