Cultural-Historical, Museum
There are 400,000 objects in the State Russian Museum that date back to the 10th century. The museum opened inside the great Mikhailovsky Palace in 1898. The collection has expanded slowly, amassing a vast number of pieces of private art and religious art looted during the Russian Revolution. The first state-owned art gallery in the world, the museum is located in a palatial building complex.
