Description

The architecture of the Cathedral is based on a Latin cross, with a nave and transepts, designed in the Gothic Revival style of the early 14th century. The cathedral, as well as many of the brass objects and mosaics that can be seen today, was designed by noted ecclesiastical architect William Wardell. The excellent acoustics and original pipe organ of the Cathedral make it popular with musicians and choral groups and there has been a cathedral choir since 1939.
