The Formosan Aborigines Museum Shung Ye was founded in 1994. The collection concentrates on items from 14 recognised indigenous groups in Taiwan. More than 6,000 years ago, Native people started settling on the island. Notable items include a wooden Yami ship that initially took three years to build.
