Cultural-Historical
The burial place of the ancient Egyptian city of Memphis, now destroyed, was Saqqara. UNESCO nominated the area as a World Heritage Site in 1979. At just 26ft by 13ft (8m by 4m), the stepped pyramid of Djoser is the first complete stone-hewn structure in history. There is a sphinx smaller than that at Giza.
