Cultural-Historical, Religious
In the late 1600s, in Panama City, the Golden Altar was made of mahogany and coated in gold. Henry Morgan, an English pirate, landed in Panama in 1671 and sacked and burned Panama City. The altar was later moved from the ruined city to the new city's San Jos Chapel. Since then, the church has been returned to its golden glory, where anyone can comfortably visit.
