Cultural-Historical, Temple-Tomb
In the 16th and 17th centuries, much of Morocco was ruled by the Saadi dynasty. The most significant tombs, including the splendid Hall with Twelve Columns, are arranged in three spaces. Comparisons with the Alhambra are evoked by beautiful geometric mosaics, minutely detailed stonework and serene courtyards. At around the same time as El Badi Palace was lost and rediscovered in 1917, the site was sealed.
