Around 1876 and 1884, the Rudolfinum was designed and opened in 1885. It is the home of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Czech Republic, which was founded in 1896. One of the oldest concert halls in Europe, the largest venue, the Dvok, is known for its excellent acoustics. It hosts a diverse schedule of concerts and art shows of classical music.
