Description

The Rijksmuseum, or National Museum, is the Netherlands' premier art museum. The collection contains about 5,000 works from the 15th to 19th centuries by Dutch and Flemish artists. Rembrandt's Nightwatch (1650), portraying the militia commanded by Frans Banning Cocq, takes pride of place.
