Description

To mark the newly founded colony of Indochina, created by the French in 1868. In 1945, after their defeat of the French, it briefly became the headquarters for the Japanese. The palace was bombed in 1962 by two Vietnamese guerrilla pilots - the president survived, but not the palace. The palace became the iconic site of Saigon's victorious liberation in 1975.
