Description

The Regent Theatre goes back to 1929, when it was opened just before the start of the Great Depression as a grand picture palace. In 1996, the renovated theatre was reopened to seat more than 2000 people. It has hosted some of Australia's largest stage productions, such as The Lion King, Dessert's Pricilla Queen, Wicked, Westside Tale and Animals. It is also one of the spots for the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
