Cultural-Historical, Religious
The first mosque in India is Quwwat ul-Islam Masjid (Might of Islam Mosque). In 1193, shortly after the loss of the last Hindu dynasty in Delhi, the Qutub Minar was launched. There are 5 different floors and tapers in the 240 foot high tower, varying from a 50 feet (15 m) diameter at the base to just 8 ft (2.5 m) at the apex. Since then, the interior of the tower has been closed to tourists.
