Description

Plaka is Athens' oldest residential area and was once the heart of Athens' working class. It is full of cafes and restaurants and tourist-oriented shops today. Travel up the stairs to the small Greek island settlement of Anafiotica, which has been transplanted to Athens. It was built in the 19th century by migrant workers who came to build the Presidential Palace.
