Description

An island off the southeast coast of Bali, Indonesia, is Penida Island, or Nusa Penida. For rice farming, the terrain is too barren, so the 7,000 inhabitants cultivate ocean seaweed. On this island, which was once used as a penal colony, the diving industry is booming.Divers can see the world's biggest bony fish, with the 2,300kg Mola Mola (also known as sunfish) being the rarest. Rare animals, including the brilliant white Bali Starling and the sea turtles, are also present on the island.
