Cultural-Historical
To link the center of the city with its imperial residence, Chapultepec Castle, Paseo de la Reforma was built. Originally named after his beloved, the promenade was named Paseo De la Emparitz. The street was called Pasea de la reforma, following the execution of Maximilian and the emancipation of the Mexican people. Today, Mexico City's most famous buildings exist along the avenue.
