Description

Budapest has tunnels and subterranean tunnels of nearly 30 km (18.5 miles). Of the nine known cave systems in Budapest, three are open to the public. The biggest of these is Plvlgyi, extending 13 km (eight miles) underground. Fossils of sea urchins, dating back 40 million years, can be found preserved in the cave roofs at some points.
