Palm Jumeirah, with a 1.2-mile trunk and 17 fronds, is the largest artificial island in the world. It is the smallest of three jointly planned artificial islands, called the Palm Islands. Since 2006, luxury hotels and resorts have been constructed on the manmade island. In and around the Atlantis hotel and water park, most of the visitor-centric attractions on the island can be found.
