Description

In Kanagawa Prefecture, 60 miles outside of Tokyo, Owaku-dani is a volcanic valley. Its hot springs and black eggs, hard boiled in sulfurous waters, make the region popular. Area folklore says your life will be shortened by seven years by eating a single egg. Hiking up to the top of Mount Kamiyama and neighboring Mount Komagatake and Lake Ashi is feasible.
