Description

Oshnavieh (Persian: اشنويه‎, romanized: Oshnavīyeh; Kurdish: Şino ,شنۆ‎) is a town in West Azerbaijan Province, Iran & the capital of Oshnavieh County. At the 2016 census, its population was 40,000 in 2000 families.Oshnavieh is bordered by Naqadeh to the east, by Piranshahr to the south, by Urmia to the north and by Iraqi Kurdistan to the west.
The spoken language in the town is Kurdish, while the official language in schools and offices is Persian.
