Description

The Old Melbourne Gaol is a historic jail cell museum in Melbourne's CBD at the top of Russell St. The jail is known for having housed many of Victoria's most notorious and controversial criminals, including Ned Kelly, the bushranger. A total of 135 prisoners were hanged here during the Gaol Service as a jail between 1845 and 1924. Every Saturday, the museum is rumored to be haunted and stages a live show related to Kelly's life and death.
