Cultural-Historical
The Old Executive Office Building dates back to 1871, when it hosted the Departments of Administration, War, and Navy. It is one of the finest examples in the United States of French Second Empire architecture. The building has hosted an impressive number of events at the highest level. Theodore and Franklin D. Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, Gerald Ford, and George Bush had offices here.
