Cultural-Historical
In ancient Athens, Herodes Atticus was an aristocratic and affluent Greek who financed many great construction ventures. The Odeum was a concert hall around a semi-circular, tiled stage with 32 rows of seating and filled with a wooden roof to support acoustics. Destroyed by Germanic invaders in 267 AD, it was abandoned until the 1950s, when the seating and stage were rebuilt for restoration.
