Cultural-Historical, Temple-Tomb
Established in the year 888 at the end of the 9th century, the ruling Emperor of the time founded Ninna-ji Temple. Heads of the Imperial Family served as priest-in-chief of the temples, bringing distinction to this day. The temple is the center of Shingon Buddhism's Omuro sect and houses the buildings of Kyoto's old Imperial Palace.
