Description

There are 2,000 different species of 400 kinds in the National Zoo. It is most notable for its breeding program and Giant Panda Habitat. A 15,000-square-foot Amazonia museum is nearby, which mimics the Amazon Rainforest biome. The American Trail, showcasing U.S. natives such as sea lions, bald eagles and gray wolves, is the Zoo's newest expansion.
