The foremost museum in Marrakech is located in a 19th century building. The museum's present form is primarily attributed to Omar Benjelloun, the patron. Ceramics, jewels, weapons, costumes, calligraphy and a Judaica set are exhibits. Works by contemporary artists from Morocco close out the permanent collection.
