Description

Mount Teide is the highest mountain in Spain, rising 3,718m above Tenerife Island. At 3,550m, the Teide Cable Car whisks tourists to an observation deck where views as far as the surrounding Canary Islands can be enjoyed.Since 1909, the volcano has not erupted, but it remains active, and as recently as 2003, seismic activity was reported. It ranks as the world's third highest volcano, rising 7,500 m above the floor of the ocean.
