Cultural-Historical, Religious
The Mosque of Amr ibn al-As, founded in 642 AD, was the first mosque on Egyptian soil to be built. It was built on the site where his tent was pitched by the commander of the Muslim army that captured Egypt. Since then, the house has been renovated and extended several times, with parts of the entrance being rebuilt as early as the 1980s.
