In Athens, Greece, the Monument of Lysicrates is the best preserved Choragic monument. In the 4th century BC, it was constructed by Lysicrate, a rich citizen of Athens. It stands over 30 feet high and is crowned in the form of acanthus leaves with a capital. The monument was incorporated into a monastery of the Capuchins that was founded in the mid 1600s in the same location.
