Description

There are two volcanoes in Molokai, a wide beach of white sand, and a holy valley. In the mid-19th century, the island was the setting for a colony of lepers. Molokai is said to be the location where the hula came from, where the hula was first danced by the goddess Laka. In May of each year, there is an annual hula festival on the island. The only way to reach the National Historical Park of Kalaupapa is by mule.
