Cultural-Historical, Temple-Tomb
In the 13th century, the Aztec tribes had a vision asking them to locate an eagle on a cactus, devour a serpent, and build their temples there. Finally, the roaming tribe discovered their sign on top of an island in Lake Texcoco and founded upon it the mighty city of Tenochtitl'n. The Spanish advance decapitated the old pyramid, but much remains, including walls of stuccoed skulls and massive carvings.
