Cultural-Historical, Religious
One of Panama's most popular tourist attractions is Plaza Catedral in the Old City. Work on the church started in 1688, but was not completed until more than 100 years later, in 1796. It has experienced many notable events in the history of Panama, including the 1903 declaration of independence. A $4 million renovation has taken place at the Metropolitan Cathedral.
