The History Museum of Marseille is one of Europe's main history museums. Notable features include an impressively restored Roman freight boat from the 3rd-century. Excavated remains are seen in the Jardin des Vestiges, including a paved Roman toad. Back in 600BC, the town was founded by the Greeks and is the oldest town in France.
