Lake, Nature
At 48 miles (77 km) by seven miles (11 km) at its widest, Lake Balaton is the greatest lake in Central Europe. It sits in landlocked Hungary's Transdanubia area and is the summer playground for all of Budapest. Lake Balaton's north and south coasts are completely different in character. With a range of new resorts strung bead-like along the beaches, the southern side is well developed.
