Description

Kosciuszko Mound was built in 1823 by the people of Krakow and is one of the city's four mounds. It is named in honor of Tadeusz Kosciusz Ko, a Polish national hero who served in the American War of Independence. The hollow mound is modeled after the ancient burial grounds of the cities of Krak and Wanda and is made of soil brought from cities all over Poland.
