Cultural-Historical
The castle was built as a kind of safe for the Imperial Regalia by Charles IV, King of Bohemia, in 1348. A fairy-tale ambiance is evoked by the medieval turrets, towers and high walls. An convenient, and very popular, day trip from Prague is a visit to the castle. The number of visitors can be daunting during the summer months.
