Description

Karim Khan citadel in the center of Shiraz is located northeast of Shohada Square today. This citadel, as its name suggests, dates back to the reign of Zandieh in Iran.
The original structure of the citadel dates back to times before Karim Khan; But after choosing Shiraz as the capital of his kingdom, Karim Khan began to expand the city and build structures for its prosperity.

During the Pahlavi period in 1350, the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Iran took care of the Shiraz Citadel, and after Karim Khani Citadel was included in the list of national monuments of Iran, this structure became the center of the "Technical Office for the Protection of Antiquities". . After the revolution, this magnificent structure was given to the Cultural Heritage Organization of Iran.
