Karaganda Region (Kazakh: Qaraǵandy oblysy; Russian: Карагандинская область, romanized: Karagandinskaja oblast′), also spelled Qaraghandy Region, is a region of Kazakhstan. Its capital is Karaganda. The region's population is 1,341,700 (2009 Census results), 1,410,218 (1999 Census results), and that of the capital city is 459,778 (2009 Census results).
