Cultural-Historical, Monument
The Jefferson Memorial was built to imitate Thomas Jefferson's library by John Russell Pope. The Jefferson Memorial's rotunda is similar in design to the Pantheon in Rome. The memorial is placed among the cherry trees on the south side of the Tidal Basin. Come visit when the cherry tree blossoms are flaming pink in late March or early April.
